Elegant and Stylish Winter Wedding Invitations
Winter weddings should use rich, deep colors such as red, gold, emerald green, royal purple, and other jewel tones.
A winter wedding theme can be introduced through the wedding invitations. Any style of wedding invitation can be a winter wedding invitation. They might be colored rather than white-using, of course, the dark rich colors mentioned above.
Other options for winter wedding invitations are:
1. Those that have a festive Christmas look to them. This ‘look’ might include the use of holly, bells, religious symbols, winter snow scenery or angels.
2. Photographs of the couple in a winter scene can be used for the front of the invitation or as a watermark.
3. Off-white or champagne colored winter wedding invitations with gold or silver glittered layers, ribbons or other embellishments give a festive look to a winter wedding invitation.
Carrying the theme forward to the wedding can look like this:
1. Using nothing but candle light for both the ceremony and the reception. White, gold or silver candles filling the room with light and warmth give an ambiance that’s hard to beat.
2. Winter flowers to use include mums, holly, roses, poinsettias, roses, calla lilies and ivy.
3. A Christmas wedding decorated with Christmas trees decked out in white, gold and silver balls, bows and flowers or angels gives an elegant look to the day.
For something like this, there can’t be too many decorations. Miniature trees done in similar fashion can serve as table centerpieces.
5. Worried about snow ruining your winter wedding? Make sure the location you choose is easily accessible in inclement weather. You might also make sure your venue offers snow removal on the sidewalks and parking lot areas.
Just as is the case with any wedding, the type of wedding partially determines what type of wedding invitation you send. The more formal the wedding the more formal the invitation should be.
In some climates a winter wedding would be no different than a wedding any other season. But for those desiring to get married in the winter but have cold and snow to possibly deal with, you might consider the following:
1. A destination wedding to a tropical location, a wedding cruise or just a more temperate climate such as San Diego, Vegas or Florida.
2. Limiting your guest list. Keep it small and simple. That way, in the case of bad weather, it won’t be difficult to notify guests of ‘plan b’.
Winter, spring, summer or fall…a wedding is a beautiful event that should be just what the bride and groom dream of.
