Over all these years

And I will be still true to thee

And no one else my dear.

Twenty-five, so long ago,

Yet in a flash it seems

The years sped by our love still grows

Like something in a dream.

Sometimes we struggled with challenges here

Sometimes we didn’t agree

But somehow managed to be of good cheer

Both sides we clearly see.

Forward we go, the next twenty-five

The joy has just begun

With you I’m glad to be alive

For you make living fun.

Our friends can see it in our eyes

As we celebrate

The love we’ve shared and still there

For my lover and my mate.

You’ve become a part of me

And I a part of you

For twenty-five years and still to be

Stronger when we’re two.

And so I leave this note

Upon your pillow as you sleep

Just some words to let our know

My love for you runs deep.

I will never leave you

On that you can depend

Thirty, forty, or fifty years

I’ll love you to the end.

Loving, true and blessed

The second year was just as good,

Who’d have ever guessed.

Year three brought some challenges,

a baby on the way

And now year four, a family,

We smile everyday.

It’s year five, we’re still alive,

Another child arrives.

Six whole years we’ve been together

And ready for six more

No time for a seven-year itch there’s

Children on the floor.

And as they grow and our love sows celebrating eight

We settle into family life, isn’t year nine great?

Our tenth anniversary, it’s great to be alive.

By year eleven our attention

Has turned toward kids

With school and sports by year twelve,

And things we never did.

We’re busy, no time for us,

Oh thirteen don’t be cruel

We need a break, it’s year fourteen

And things are growing cool.

Family to the rescue, a vacation for fifteen.

Year sixteen the kids have grown

And much more independent

And now by year seventeen,

We’re planning teen events.

By eighteen we are driving

Teens all over town we sigh.

By nineteen one child is driving,

The other wants a ride.

Twenty years have come and gone,

Too quickly so it seems.

Both kids want to drive

The car as we hit twenty-one

College bound, year twenty-two,

And now there’s only one.

Another graduation, proud parents at twenty-three

Another leaving home,

And twenty-four finds us free.

To celebrate twenty-five

And everything in between.

The sun rise upon our love

Each day

And as the morning glory blooms

So blooms our love.

The years have been kind

To us

And will be kinder still

As we approach our middle years

We bask in our love

Tried and true.

Oh lover, oh friend

Of twenty and five years

I still long for you when away

I reach for you and you are there

Safely beside me

And I sleep again.

My darling, my sweetheart

The one who brings me joy

Laughter

Be mine again

Another twenty-five awaits

Take my hand and we shall go.

Littered with flowers

This ordinary man.

And people came from near and far

To wish the best for us

And send the couple on their way

With hope and dreams and love.

The years have come and they have gone
